Blaming The Devil For Our Failures

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked, “Why could we not drive it out?” He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. [But this kind of demon does not go out except by prayer and fasting.]”
— Matthew 17:19-21

Why are some people in superabundance and others sick, broke and depressed? It is God’s will for every Christian to prosper in every area of their life. But for too long we’ve been trained to talk about the problem instead of coming up with a solution.

There is always a solution to the problems of this world. The answer is Jesus. You might be thinking that I sound super spiritual and that this is totally inapplicable to your current situation but you're wrong. Luke 10:19 says,”Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.” He gave us authority over ALL THE POWER of the devil. SO much power, that it manifests in the natural in order for nothing to harm/injure us.

Jesus stripped the devil of all his power (Col. 2:15). He cannot come near us. He cannot harm us. He is a defeated foe. Too often, however, I hear the EXACT opposite.

“The devil is knocking sister Adalis.” or, “The devil has been attacking my family, Adalis” or,
“The devil is strong in these parts, so strong, we’ve been having difficulties growing.” or, (one of my favorites) “There’s a stronghold in this region keeping revival from coming in.”

Why have we been blaming the devil for everything?! Did God not give us ALL POWER? Jesus didn't come to whoop satan’s behind just a little. He stripped him of everything he was worth. The devil is a ZERO, a nobody, an absolute loser! Quit giving him credit for the crappy things happening in your life and acknowledge the fact that you missed it!

In Matthew 17, the disciples tried to cast the demon out of the boy but they couldn’t. How did Jesus respond? Did he blame the devil or did he blame the disciples? Jesus pinned it on their lack of faith. We need to kill pride and come to the realization that the problems we face are directly attributed to our lack of faith. That might seem harsh but it’s true nonetheless.

When will you quit magnifying the devil and all he's accomplished in your life? When will you begin to magnify God and how great He is? The devil shouldn't even be a thought in your mind. God is so much greater, so much better, so much more powerful! Sadly, some people will continue on blaming that powerless devil for things they have control of. It sucks to take the blame for failures and mishaps, trust me I KNOW! But you must come to that place in order for you to progress and be a success.

Faith in God will move your mountains. Faith in God will bring about your answer. Faith in God will turn your situation around.  Consecrate yourself to God in fasting and prayer. Take time to devour the Word of God. When you do these things, your faith in God will grow exponentially. You’ll begin to talk different, look different and think different. The devil may have done damage in certain areas of your life but you have the power to overcome that grief, defeat, sickness or financial problem. Don't stay down. Brush yourself off and recognize the power within you! Rise up from that pit and make it your life's goal to be a wrecking ball for the kingdom of darkness. In Jesus name!

“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
