If you’ve ever thought that faith was allowing for God to intervene on all of the affairs of life, you’ve only scratched the surface. I often ask people “How’s life?”or “What do you have planned next?” Too often I hear “We’ll see where the Lord takes me!” or “Waiting on God to open that door!” Yesterday we spoke about your commitment to the Lord. Today we delve into the plan! What plan, you may ask? Exactly.
Every highly successful person, whether in ministry or not, have one thing in common, they're planners! The Bible says in Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” What are you committing? Your plan of action. If you have no actions to commit, how the heck are you going to succeed? Do you know even God has a plan? Amos 3:7 says, "Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets." God has a plan of action and He cannot move without first revealing it to His prophets.
One of the greatest men of God to ever roam this earth is Dr. David Oyedepo. Go ahead and look him up on Wikipedia. Did you see it? He’s established an empire. He has schools (universities), hospitals, banks, bakeries, a water plant, you name it! He’s a mastermind of business. A true pioneer of success. But first, he’s a pastor! I heard him say to the congregation on a Sunday morning that He has a 25-year plan. Some people have a hard time planning things on their vacation in two weeks! This man has a 25-year plan! Does he believe Jesus will come back? Sure. But he lives with the conviction of being a success right now.
When that little boy came and gave his two fish and five loaves of bread what happened? (Mark 6:30-41) Jesus strategically came up with a plan to distribute the food. Jesus told the disciples to seat the crowd in groups of fifty or one hundred. See that? Organization. He sat them down then blessed the food. Could you imagine if this plan wasn't in place? We’ve distributed boxes of food and when the people crowd around us, it is borderline chaotic. That's with a group of 1,000 people or less, can you imagine the 5,000 men women and children not included!? Jesus avoided the mess by having a plan.
You have to have a plan of action for your business and ministry. If you want it to succeed, you need a way! Maybe it's not a 25-year plan or a 10-year plan. Start with a 6-month plan and move up from there. Always make a plan to increase. Always make a plan to succeed. The days of a better last year come to an end today! When you commit your ways to God they WILL succeed.
