Perfect love drives out fear. It’s the Word you take in that will determine the level of your love. The level of your love will determine the degree of power that will be projected through your life. A little Word, a little power. A lot of Word, A LOT of power. You are the determining factor. Your husband or wife, pastor or parent won’t be able to force these things on you. You and only you have to potential to strive or fail.
The Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” Why? Because of fear of punishment. Romans 8:15 says, “For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!” The slavery to fear is directly connected to your perception of God.
Would you fear the wrath of a parent who’s patient, merciful, full or compassion and love? Of course not! The fear we have is the perception of a hard master looking to strike down anyone at any given time. Your confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life gave you the access to sonship with God. You are His child, and He loves you very much.
Already, a heavy load is lifting off of you because of this wonderful reality. The reality that God is a God looking out for His children. He doesn't want to harm you! He wants the best for you!
You must change your perception of God as a hard Master to that of a good Dad! It’s only then that you can come “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) May that Spirit of Boldness come on you right now! No more whimpering. No more whining. No more timidity. It’s time to be bold!
Prayer & Confession:
"God most High of Heaven and earth, thank you! You are the Rock of my Salvation. You are the Begining and the End. You're the Author and Perfecter of my faith. I bless your name. Today, I ask for an endowment of boldness! Fill me with the boldness of a lion! I look to you as a good Dad, not one who's looking for my demise. You love me so much, you count the hairs on my head! I receive the power to be your child! I receive the knowledge of who I am in You. Thank you, God! In Jesus' name!"
Keep little postcards of scriptures that minister to you. Put them in your back pocket. When the devil tries to lie to you, pull them out and read them aloud. Combat every demonic thought with the Word of God. Jesus did!
