What’s in the Name of Jesus? Healing

As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord’s people who lived in Lydda. There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up. All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
— Acts 9:32-35

The name of Jesus has the power to heal. The Bible says in Isaiah 53:5, “But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.” The sacrifice of Jesus opened the door for complete freedom from sickness and disease. I don’t think people understand the magnitude of this scripture! Jesus paid the price so that we could be free! So how do we invoke that healing? By using His name!
The name of Jesus is the access card to let you into the room of divine health and vitality! In Acts 9, Peter saw Aeneas, a crippled man, bedridden for eight years!  How did Aeneas regain his health and ability to walk? Peter simply said, “Jesus Christ heals you, get up and roll up your mat”. Peter didn't lay His hands on Aeneas or sling snot for half an hour begging God to heal him. He simply said the name of Jesus! See the power in that name?

Don’t get used to “aches and pains” of life. Don’t write off anxiety as normal. Don’t prepare yourself for a long hard road of recovery. Simply say the name of Jesus. The next time you see or feel a symptom say out loud “Jesus Christ heals ME!” Then get up and make yourself a sandwich. It’s that simple. It’s that potent.
