Complaining Repels God

Then the whole community of Israel set out from Elim and journeyed into the wilderness of Sin, between Elim and Mount Sinai. They arrived there on the fifteenth day of the second month, one month after leaving the land of Egypt. There, too, the whole community of Israel complained about Moses and Aaron.
“If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned. “There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted. But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.”

— Exodus 16:1-3

Did you notice that? It took but ONE measly month for God’s people to forget about the INCREDIBLE things God did on their behalf. Can you imagine that?! They witness countless of supernatural plagues on their enemies and complete freedom from 400 years of slavery. God protected their families and cattle and parted the waters so they could walk on dry land. Now, they're complaining?!

If you continue to read the scriptures you’ll soon begin to notice a pattern with the God’s people.

A supernatural move of God
A bit of opposition
Huge amounts of people complaining and murmuring
A demise of God’s people though plague or something crazy.

One would only be led to conclude that GOD HATES COMPLAINING.

The miracles, signs and wonders they saw with their eyes should have given them enough faith to face any and ALL kinds of opposition! So the water was a little bitter…you were just led to this area by a pillar of fire by night and cloud by day! So you don't have meat to eat, you were just freed from 400 years of slavery loaded up with silver and gold from your enemies!

There is no good reason to complain. In fact, when you do, your demise it at hand. Complaining about your life and current circumstances will open the door to sickness and disease. Constant murmuring and despising the things God has already done in your life will make you prey for the devil. Don’t do it!! On verse 7 of the same chapter it says " In the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your complaints, which are against him, not against us. What have we done that you should complain about us?” Your complaints may seem directed at your husband or a co-worker but really, they're aimed at God. When you complain, you questions God's integrity. When you complain you doubt the God who saved you from hell and healed your body! Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of anything with the slightest twinge of sounding like a complaint! In Jesus Name!

At those moments, where it would be easy to complain and state the obvious of what's happening around you, praise God. Thank Him. Just like complaining repels God, praise magnetizes Him to you! Try it out!
