Teach & Command Your Family

19 For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him [as My own], so that he may teach and command his children and the sons of his house after him to keep the way of the Lord and to do what is just and righteous, so that the Lord may bring Abraham what He has promised him.
— Genesis 18:19 AMPC

God’s promises for greatness are contingent with how you raise your children. Did you know one of the reasons God blessed Abraham was because he could command his children to serve God? Not only did Abraham raise his children to fear the Lord, he raised all the sons of his house to keep the way of the Lord! That takes some serious authority!

If you want God’s promises or His miraculous power to flow through your life, how have you been raising your children? Is it optional for them to go to church? Does ballet or baseball come before youth group or a church night? If the people under your command have no fear of God, how can God trust you with big things?

Genesis 18:19 is clear about why God could bring Abraham what He had promised him. It was because Abraham could TEACH and COMMAND his children to serve Him. Let that sink in. It’s not enough to teach your kids about God, you must command them to do it! There is no opting out with the things of God. You must set the precedence that your family WILL go to heaven! Teach them and command them to adhere to the Word of God. Take time in family Bible study. That is your domain, you must lead the way!

When God sees you can raise your family with the fear of the Lord, everything you’ve been waiting for will swiftly come to pass!
