God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

— 1 Peter 4:10-11

There are so many talented people in this world. Some can sing, some have a supernatural athletic ability, others have an incredible talent in the arts. Whatever the talent is, there’s no denying the fact that some people are born with a gift! Then there're people like me. Not great at anything. Below average grades. No ability to play an instrument or draw like Picasso, just your average Joe. Are you in this category? Have you been questioning your value?

Did you know there are many people who’ve made millions using a talent that has no reflection of God? Some of these people are fed up with life. They have everything money can buy. They have all the success this world can give but they’re absolutely broken on the inside.

If you’re gifted at something or nothing at all, God has given you purpose. That purpose is to point people to God. Do you know when you get to heaven God isn't going to care about how many records or paintings you’ve sold? You’ll be judged by what you did with the gifts God has given you.

If you’re living for your own happiness and success, you’ll be miserable in no time. If you’ve taken that success and made it something to help “serve others” (1 Peter 4:10) you’ll find the greatest fulfillment life can offer. Linking up your purpose in life to helping serve other will be your open door for an increase in every dimension of your life.

God has placed you where you are to become a beacon of light in the darkness. Make today the day you begin to link up what you do to help others. If you’re on the stage or behind it, serve others. There’s no greater joy than helping those around you. A special talent has nothing to do with a heart that’s connected to God. Don’t limit yourself from helping serve those around you because you don't think you're good enough. Let everything you do bring Glory to God, in Jesus name!
