That word bless is used a whole lot in Christianity. As I've studied the Word of God, I've come across this word and have realized that a declaration is closely associated with it. "I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my MOUTH." Here that word bless remains inactive without first having a praise in your mouth.
In James, the Bible says blessing and cursing come pouring out of the MOUTH. Most of the time when there was a blessing, it was first pronounced/declared from the mouth of God or a person. The word bless originates from the word blood and it was used to mark or consecrate with blood.
The power behind a blessing has its origin in the blood! A blessing is a consecrated, holy thing. When you pronounce a blessing, it marks someone's life! Do you see the power behind a blessing? I'll declare blessings over my daughter's life because I know the power behind my words aren't coming from me. The power is in the blood of Jesus. The power at work is the Spirit of God. When you release a blessing, things are created!
Hebrews 1:2 says "And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe." In Genesis, the force behind the spoken word of God when He created the universe was His Son! Jesus was the creator! That same creative force abides in you! So, as you declare a blessing, Jesus makes it happen!
From now on, declare the blessings of God over your life, the lives of your children and those around you. When you get up in the morning command goodness and mercy to follow you. Make it a habit of speaking out blessings and watching those things manifest through the power of Jesus Christ!
I declare you blessed and highly favored! You are above and never beneath in Jesus name!
