Without God You Can Do NOTHING

I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

— John 15:5

For without me you can do nothing”. Have you ever thought of what that really means? Anything that’s not rooted in God is considered NOTHING! Turn on the tv and watch the crazy things people have given their lives for: makeup, music, food, dogs, whatever it may be, if it’s not connected to God, it is USELESS!

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 says, “Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.”

If you choose to work a job to pay your bills and nothing more, on the day God puts your works through the fire, you will “suffer great loss”. You must wake up and come to the realization that everything you do must be connected with God and His Kingdom! Only then will you get up with purpose. It’s until you’re directly connected with God that your work will have any VALUE. Is it any wonder why suicide and depression rank increasingly high among the wealthy?

What a tragedy it will be to have lived your life without helping those around you, without telling one person about Jesus, or without advancing the Kingdom of God in any way. You may not be an evangelist but you can give towards outreaches and volunteer. You may not be a missionary but you can support one and win your neighbor to Jesus. You may not be a preacher but you can live in such a way where people will ask you about your God. Stay CONNECTED with God! In Jesus' name!
