Help Lift The Heavy Burden

"So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing"
-1 Thessalonians 5:11

"As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."
-Proverbs 27:17

"Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ."
-Galatians 6:2

We can go a lifetime looking inward and being busy about our day. Instead of looking down into your own problems, look around! Be a friend to someone who needs to be lifted up. It’s easy to dismiss those around us but God want’s us to bear one another’s burdens. He want’s us to help those who need help. He wants us to pray for each other so that we may be healed (James 5:16). He wants us to go out of our way to show those around us the love of Jesus!

We are the love of God represented on the earth. How you show kindness and love to others will be how people view the depth of love you have for God. God is love. 1 John 4:8 says “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” If you can go a lifetime without showing anyone outside of your family love, how real was your love for God?

Go visit that person who's in the hospital and ACTUALLY pray for them. Is your coworker having a terrible day? Go out of your way to cheer them up! Call that friend who’s son or daughter is addicted to heroin and encourage them, pray for them, love them! When you bear another person's burden, you help carry their heavy load. You can be the source of hope and joy that they so desperately need. Remember, what you make happen for other, God will make happen for you! (Proverbs 11:25)
