Did you know faith and fear have the same effect on your future? There is a supernatural power that gets behind the things you have faith or fear for. That’s why when faith rises in us, we have to tell someone about it. When we have a dream, we write it down. What you have a surplus of in your heart, will come out of your mouth (Matt. 12:34). Look at Job, the entrance the devil had was fear. He not only had fear in his heart and mind, he released it out of his mouth. Job 3:25 says, "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me." What a confession! Does it sound familiar? Faith is the substance of things hoped for evidence of things not seen. Does that sound like faith? He continues to talk about the things he feels and sees instead of magnifying God and thanking Him for being alive!
So, if your heart is full of fear, you’ll begin to talk like it. “I’m afraid of (fill in the blank),” “I’m scared this might happen to my kids,” “I’ll never get out of this mess,” “I always get the flu in February.” It’s one laced fear thing after the next. Don’t you believe the Word of God? Don’t you believe in Proverbs 18:21? “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The power of life and death are in the things you release out of your mouth!
We’ve talked about choosing life or death, and this is where to start! What are you saying? Listen to yourself the next time you speak. Examine the things you say. The words you speak are laying the foundation for your future. Everything you say, good or bad, is a brick that’s being laid to a room you’ll soon enter.
“And those who love it will eat its fruit,” whatever your mouth says creates a reality. What will it be? Are you terrified of losing your child? Are you scared your health will fail? Do you continue to dwell on those thoughts and release them out of your mouth? You must put a stop to it (Proverbs 21:23). Wake up to this reality! It’s what will determine your outcome and future. Repent of every thought and imagination that would exalt itself above the Word of God, bring it into captivity (2 Cor. 10:5).
Prayer & Confession:
“Heavenly Father, I praise you for being a merciful God. Thank you for your goodness. Thank you for taking care of me. Father, today, I repent of everything I’ve said that goes against your Word. I’m sorry for the things I’ve released out of my mouth that would be offensive to you and the sacrifice of your Son. Jesus paid the price of death so that I would be free. I repent of saying things that would enslave me to what He’s set me free from. I repent of the imaginations I’ve allowed to settle in my mind. I bring those thoughts into captivity right now! Destroy everything I’ve said that would give life to fear and doubt. I’m sorry! Today I take a stand against those thoughts. Let every word that goes against your perfect will for my life be burned up! I thank you, Lord, that in my ignorance you had mercy on me. Thank you for your help. Thank you that the Holy Spirit, from this moment forward, would convict me of everything I say that would destroy my future and the future of those I love. I praise you God of Heaven. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. You are the most gracious and compassionate. Thank You! In Jesus’ Name.”
The only way to combat those terrible imaginations and thoughts that would go against the Word of God is by filling your mind up with the Word. Before you go to bed look up five scriptures on the things that have been troubling you. Finances, health, joy, peace, whatever it may be, the Word of God has something to say about it. Read it and meditate on them before bed.
