I didn't have you read this scripture to bring you down or condemn you in any way. I want you to understand the power of the battle in your mind. God sent these 12 spies into the promise land and 10 came back with a terrible report. What made the difference? Their minds.
When we are commanded to do something we must do it! The things written in God’s Word are not optional for us. We either do them or we suffer the consequences for not doing them. God wanted them to take over the land and because they allowed fear and doubt to intercept their faith, they had to wander the desert for another 40 years!
You can never attain your promise land until you first obey and do what God commanded. Notice how God never had another plan of attack. He had one way and He waited 40 years for them to get their hearts right before going back and taking territory.
Save yourself the years of frustration and simply do what God tells you to do! If He said you can take the land, take it. If He said you’re healed, receive it. If He said you’re rich, be rich! If He said don't fear, eliminate fear!
Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” A victors mentality gets the job done! Look at the boldness of Joshua’s proclamation, “Only rebel not against the LORD, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.” (Numbers 14:9)
He refused to bow in fear. He refused to tolerate the devils lies. In Joshua’s mind, he already had them beat! You must see yourself as already slaying the giant. Maybe it’s a giant of poverty, fear, sickness or defeat. You can eat the devourer by conquering them in your mind first! When you do, they’ll be like bread! It’s that bread that brings nourishment for your next battle—making them even easier! Conquer the enemy in your mind!
