Is He Lord?

I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

— Psalm 16:2

Many have made Jesus the savior of their lives but few have known Him as Lord. Webster’s dictionary defines ‘lord’ as “a ruler by hereditary right or preeminence (Superiority) to whom service and obedience are due.” To acknowledge Him as the person that saved you is one thing. To know Him as one you must serve— because that’s the least you can do — is another.

Your service and obedience are due Him! There are too many people that struggle in their walk of Christianity because they haven’t fully surrendered to the Lord. Psalm 16:2 says it so perfectly! Apart from our LORD, we have no good thing. Notice it doesn’t say “God” it says “Lord!” It’s until you make God Master over your life that you’ll begin to see goodness and mercy flow.

Is God the authority in your life? Does He have full control of you everything you do? Has been granted to power over your mind, soul and body? If you answered ‘no’ to any of these you must surrender your ALL to Him this very moment!

If someone lives in a rental property they’ve most likely signed a contract allowing them to live at that property. That contract is made up of fees, rules and regulations issued by the land lord. If the tenants don’t abide by the rules they’ll soon find themselves out on the streets or in some legal battle. The same goes for every child of God. You may have made Jesus your Savior but you haven’t made Him Lord.

Those who make God Lord of their lives have an easy time in life. They recognize the law of God’s Word and abide by it. They know the part they have to play and see the benefit of it every day. They submit their will, feelings and body to God. Once you delegate the power over to the Lord, you no longer have to do anything in your own strength! (Zech. 4:6)
